Key performance areas
In this dynamic role, you will work to develop automotive solutions and opportunities supporting our sales team in meeting their automotive growth goals.
The region covered for this role would be the Midwest US with a strong focus on specific automotive accounts.
Main duties and responsibilities:
You will be responsible to grow share of wallet in the automotive segment. Collaborate within the regional teams on technical presentations and customer interactions to ensure suitable business opportunities and solutions are identified and secured for Sandvik Coromant.
Identify and research potential customers in the Automotive industry segment
Develop and maintain customer relationships
Track and report on the status of projects and opportunities
Make and give presentations to prospective customers and key decision makers
Collaborate across sales regions with local Account Managers through CRM software
Develop and manage strategic partnerships to grow business
Drive the end-to-end sales process
Recommends products and services that fit well with customers’ business needs
Responds to complex technical questions regarding products, systems or services
Troubleshoots, investigates, and resolves technical problems that arise during or after implementation
Your way of working
Build effective working relationships with end customers and distributors
Support sales activities by analyzing customer technical needs and implement solutions
Ensure successful opportunities are identified and appropriate products are technically applied to maximize profitable growth
Documents product performance and application savings to ensure Sandvik Coromant can develop and deliver the most competitive products in the market.
Lead customer projects from start to finish with the local team
Coordinate between all internal stakeholders, partners, and customers around projects and opportunities
Applicant should be a US citizen or a Permanent Card holder.
Degree in mechanical/manufacturing engineering or applicable industry experience.
Technical experience with cutting tool skills and knowledge.
Experience in CAM & CAD is a plus.
Project management and experience managing external and internal customer relationships is an advantage.
Must possess a current driver’s license valid for his/her state of primary residence.
Broad technical knowledge in metal cutting tools and strong competence in area of expertise
Ability to support a diverse and geographically spread team
Ability to manage projects and opportunities effectively, capable of leveraging all resources
Ability to listen to customers and sales project teams to understand underlying needs and ensure suitable technical solutions are delivered to secure profitable business
