Kongsberg Automotive, a Norway provider of parts and systems for automotive and other applications, has announced its plan to close two US plants, cutting 205 jobs.
The company would move the production to its plants in Mexico.
Chief executive Olav Volldal said that like other automotive suppliers, KA too has seen drastic reductions in demand over the past few months.
Kongsberg said it would move the production from the Van Wert, Ohio, facility to its Nuevo Laredo, Mexico, facility, eliminating 105 jobs.
Output from the Haysville, Kansas, facility will go to the Matamoros, Mexico, plant, and 100 jobs will be cut.
