Hino Motors in Williamstown is charging up
production and showing no signs of slowing down. The Toyota subsidiary celebrated its official grand opening on Monday.
“We think perhaps the economy might be a secret weapon for us because we do have a very
economic truck and it’s very reliable and so for those people who are willing to go out and purchase a truck they might think I need to buy something of high quality so they don’t have to continue to repair it,” said a representative.
The plant has already rolled out more than 1,000 trucks but plans to increase production five-fold in its second year.
The company also added dozens of new jobs in the past couple of months, bringing the total workforce to 105 at the Williamstown facility.
