The Opportunity Delaware North parks and resorts is hiring for a Vehicle Mechanic to join our team at Kennedy Space Center in Kennedy Space Center, Florida. As a Vehicle Mechanic, you will perform a range of repairs to electrical or electronic systems, make mechanical and bodywork repairs on buses as required, and assist the Vehicle Mechanic Technician team as needed.Responsibilities nRecognize and repair electronic or electrical malfunctions occurring on fleet vehicles.nAssist Mechanics or independently perform mechanical, body, and air conditioning repairs to fleet vehicles as required.nMaintain and repair UHF radio systems and associated equipment.nDrive buses to replace field breakdowns and to move buses to repair locations.nFollow safety and environmental business practices. Wear proper Personal Protective Equipment and keep work area in a clean and orderly condition.nPerform as environmental/safety point of contact/supervisor/monitor and on related committees as assigned.nPerform a range of repairs to electrical or electronic systems and make mechanical and bodywork repairs on buses as required.nServe as environmental/safety point of contact.nQualifications nHigh School Diploma or equivalent required.nAbility to read and interpret schematics, manuals, work orders, and work schedules.nEffective communication to report on repair requirements and instruct helpers.nAbility to use meters and electrical or electronic measuring devices, hand and hand power tools, forklift truck, freon recovery equipment, oxyacetylene and arc welding equipment, drill press, grinder, pressure gauges, air gun, compressor, pumps, wash stations, jacks, and precision measuring devices and two-way radios.nValid Florida Class “B” Commercial Driver’s License with “P” endorsement.nRequires ASE Certification in Freon recovery recycling, diesel & gasoline engines, and heavy-duty brakes.nRCRA Hazardous Waste Management training and SPCC Oil-Handling training, within six months of hire.nAnnual refresher training to meet the requirements of 40 CFR 265.16 and 40 CFR 112.7(f).nPhysical Requirements nRequires work outdoors with the presence of fumes, grease, oil, dust, noise, solvents, and fluids.nRequires wearing Personal Protective Equipment (steel-toed shoes, eyewear, gloves, hearing protection) where designated. nRequires standing for long periods, pushing, pulling, stooping, bending and reaching, lifting, or manipulating between 5 and 25 pounds for more than 70 percent of the day.nRequires occasional manipulation of weights over 100 pounds and participation in the manipulation of very heavy objects.nShift Details 1st ShiftWeekendsHolidaysWho We Are At Delaware North, you’ll love where you work, who you work with, and how your day unfolds.
