: Center Director III and Facilities Manager Pay Range:
Facilities Hours per Week
Manage the Facilities Department, including the maintenance of vehicles as required by the Texas Department of Transportation and other governmental agencies, supervision of facilities, equipment maintenance, administrative services, and property management. Assure the quality operation of the facility and oversee the office equipment maintenance and fixed assets of the organization.
Must have excellent organizational and customer service skills, and be able to work effectively with diverse range of individuals, including those of all ethnic, racial, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Also needed are proof of a good driving record and a valid driver’s license.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Knowledge of school operations preferred.
Provide a good driving record for the last three years and maintain a good driving record (to be verified biannually).
Knowledge of general office equipment, heat and air, carpentry, floor care, plumbing, general building repair and remodeling. Basic diagnostic ability prior to contacting a professional.
Appliance repair: Basic repairs, bulb replacement, shelving, doors, accessories.
Electrical: light fixture repair, bulb replacement.
Housekeeping: Basic carpentry skills, paining, installing office accessories, wall mounted signs, pictures, shelves, cabinets
Plumbing: Ability to complete simple repairs to sinks, faucets and toilets, snake toilets and drains.
Knowledge of business administration activities such as fixed asset management, inventory control, property management.
Five or more years of experience in business and facility management preferred.
Must be a team player and open to new or different situations/solutions.
Must be people oriented, have the ability to work with and get along with a wide variety of personalities, and be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Must be organized and able to organize work, detail oriented, and able to work under stress.
Must be able to direct the activities of others.
Must be honest and straightforward.
Computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word programs. Able to input information concerning repairs. Answering and sending emails.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Support Extend-A-Care for Kids’ rental business as directed.
Assist in enforcing the provisions of the leases.
Serve as first point of communication for tenants. Assure tenants’ needs and concerns are handled in a timely manner.
Maintain property and facility security. First responder to problems arising from unauthorized entry after hours and on weekends/holidays, dispute, theft, and vandalism. Secure the business office at closing time. Provide security to maintain a cordial and cooperative work environment for employees, tenants, and guests
Keep the necessary parties notified of office closing and special needs
Serve as the on-site liaison to the janitorial, grounds care, heat and air, garbage, elevator, Fire Marshall, city building inspector, security, and other agencies that may be necessary
Be responsible for telephones, copy machines, fax machines, printers, shredders, and other EACFK equipment. Be knowledgeable about maintenance, warranties, and service agreements. Provide daily servicing of equipment, such as refilling/emptying paper
Secure, screen, interview, and recommend bids to the Facilities Manager
Approve bills for monthly facility contracted services while continuing to evaluate and compare monthly services provided by outside vendors
Work with contracted professionals to assure quality operations of the facility and facility equipment
Perform and/or supervise repair on office plumbing, electrical, lighting, heat and air, other building repairs, remodeling, and maintenance
Manage department budget including creating purchase orders for purchase of job related supply materials and services
Dispose of obsolete supplies and equipment in a proper manor
Maintain, inventory, service, and track current business office equipment including furniture, pagers, cell phones, security cards, keys, and radios
Maintain storage units
Maintain order and organization of building and grounds
Observe Extend-A-Care for Kids policies on conflicts of interest and gifts and gratuities
Maintain telephone service to the business office and to the centers
Work with appropriate EACFK personnel to purchase, supply, and store major appliances and equipment for the centers and business office
Prepare, collect, and assign work orders
Maintain, inventory, service, and track current center equipment, including microwaves, cabinets, telephones, answering machines, walkie-talkies, refrigerators, learning center signs, CD/cassette/radio players, and water coolers
Manage the transportation operations for the Extend-A-Care for Kids centers
Supervise vehicle and facilities maintenance and safety. Maintain vehicles as required by the Texas Department of Transportation and other governmental agencies to include pre-trip maintenance checks, regular scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and cleaning
Develop and implement emergency procedures, including staff training
Maintain documentation on use and service of vehicles
Maintain all state inspections and registration of vehicles
Complete minor repairs that do not require service by a certified maintenance mechanic
Ensure vehicles are secured in the motor pool at the end of the day
Maintain supplies required to keep the vehicle operating properly
Assist in the purchase of buses and other vehicles
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Ability to read and record information, communicate effectively (verbally and in writing), maintain emotional control under stress, regular sitting, walking, filing, reaching, lifting, and standing. No fear of climbing ladders. Lifting and moving heavy furniture, boxes, tools with use of moving equipment. Proper lifting techniques for max 80 lbs alone. Must be able to routinely lift 10-40 lbs. Driving of an organization vehicle will be required.
