Delphi Corp. Cuts 600 Jobs
by EmploymentCrossing.com

Delphi Corp. announced that it plans to lay off approximately 600 of its 3,200 salaried worker.   These layoffs are said to be from the decrease in automotive demand throughout the U.S.

Layoffs are primarily going to be made in Delphi’s electronics and safety divisions, in the hopes of cutting there costs by 25 per cent.

Unfortunately, a majority of the job cuts are from Delphi’s plant in Kokoma, Indiana, which employs 2,500 white-collar workers.  Plants in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Ohio will also be affected.

The automotive industry hasn't seen a double-digit decline like this in quite a while and sales are expected to decrease another 10% this year.
